— How We Work

Our approach to advisory engagements

Every engagement begins with a written scope that describes what we will do, what access we will need, what we will produce, and when we will produce it. This document is signed by both parties before work begins.

During the engagement, we work closely with the firm's own people. We do not conduct our analysis in isolation — we rely on conversations with operations leads, finance staff, and the principal owner to build an accurate picture.

Our deliverables are written documents — not slide decks. The final document is reviewed with the client before it is finalised, and we address any questions about its contents before closing the file.

Written scope upfront

Signed before work begins. No surprises on scope or fee.

Works alongside your team

We gather information through your people, not around them.

Written output, not slides

Documents you can reference months after the engagement ends.

Review before finalising

The draft is shared before sign-off. Questions addressed before close.

Industrial SME Health Check

A short engagement for industrial small and mid-sized firms in the Klang Valley whose owners would value an outside reading of how the operation is running. Over three weeks we visit the plant, sit with the operations and finance leads, look at the recent two financial years, and return a short written summary of the things worth considering more carefully.

The summary is purposely brief — usually under twelve pages — and is intended to be a useful reference inside the firm rather than a presentation document. This engagement suits firms that sense something needs attention but are not yet certain what it is.

Plant site visit included
Operations and finance team interviews
Two years of financial accounts reviewed
Written summary under twelve pages
Three-week completion timeline

Process steps

  1. 01Briefing call and scope agreement
  2. 02Document collection (management accounts, operational data)
  3. 03On-site plant visit and team interviews
  4. 04Analysis and draft summary preparation
  5. 05Draft review with principal, final delivery
SME Health Check

Best suited for

Industrial SMEs in the Klang Valley with 20–200 employees, annual turnover between RM 3 million and RM 20 million, and an owner who has a sense that operational or financial performance deserves a closer look.

Supply Resilience Review

Best suited for

Manufacturers and B2B service firms that have experienced supply disruptions, rely heavily on one or two key suppliers, or want to understand the concentration risk in their current procurement arrangements before it becomes a problem.

Supply-Side Resilience Review

A considered engagement for manufacturers and B2B service firms whose recent years have shown them the cost of brittle supplier arrangements. Over nine weeks we work with the procurement and operations leads to map the firm's current supplier network, identify the points of single-source exposure, and prepare a written review with a small set of practical adjustments the firm could make over the following twelve months.

The work is conducted in close conversation with the firm's people. We do not bring in our own panel of suppliers, and the adjustments we recommend are within the firm's control to implement independently.

Full supplier network mapping
Single-source exposure identification
Procurement and operations interviews
12-month adjustment recommendations
Nine-week engagement period

Process steps

  1. 01Initial discussion and scope agreement
  2. 02Supplier data collection and interviews with procurement lead

  5. 05Finalised written review delivered

Mid-Market M&A Readiness Advisory

A senior engagement for owner-led firms who have begun to receive credible approaches from potential acquirers and would like to be in a more considered position before entering serious conversations. Over four to five months we work alongside the principal to prepare the firm's commercial story, understand the range of likely valuations on a realistic basis, and put in place the internal information that a serious buyer will ask to see.

We do not act as the firm's transaction advisor — we prepare the firm to engage one well. This distinction matters: a firm that enters a sale process with its information in order and its commercial position clearly articulated tends to receive better terms and fewer delays. This engagement is discreet and held in strict confidence.

Commercial story preparation
Realistic valuation context and range
Buyer information package organisation
Senior advisor involvement throughout
Strict confidentiality maintained

Process steps

  1. 01Confidential initial discussion and scope confirmation
  2. 02Commercial and financial review with the principal
  3. 03Valuation context analysis and narrative development
  4. 04Information package preparation and gap analysis
  5. 05Final briefing before the firm enters formal conversations
M&A Readiness

Best suited for

Owner-led businesses — typically with five to twenty years of trading history and annual revenues above RM 5 million — that have received one or more credible approaches and want to enter any formal process from a position of preparation rather than reaction.
